Swimming
Historically, the beach at Sunset Lake has been popular for swimming and picnicking. Although a storm in 2011 washed out the earthen dam, restoration is scheduled to be completed by the Fall of 2013.
Sunset Lake has traditionally been the site of the Sunset Challenge Triathlon, attracting participants from all over the Mid-Atlantic region for 22 years. The event has been temporarily moved to Parvin State Park.
Boating
The fresh waters of the Upper Cohansey River Watershed provide a natural setting for kayaking, canoeing, and small boating.
The tidal waters of the Lower Cohansey River Watershed allow for motorized boating, sailing, and yachting. Several marinas provide services to boaters.
